My Trip Back to the Strawberry Patch

Last week we went back to the strawberry orchard. E was supposed to go on a field trip with her class the week before, but came down with a cold and missed the trip, so we (me and the kids) went with my mom last week).

We had had a lot of rain and expected lots of strawberries, but we really had to hunt for them, unlike earlier in the season when they are really large and abundant.

The kids had a great time, running up and down the lanes and shouting "Get out of my row!"

My New Office

"We" have been hard at work at "remodeling", turning our work area in our garage into an office space.

Here are a series of photos that shows the process....

First is E, showing where the office door will be going.

Then there is J, our carpenter, cutting a hole in the wall where the door will be going. The kids (really only E) loved this. Z thought it was too loud.

Here are some shots of various stages of the door being cut and the new wall where there was once just garage!

We've also taken some of my mom's old kitchen cabinets and put them up in our laundry room. We spent this past weekend painting the laundry room!

My Family's Easter Egg Hunt

The Big Hunt. Here are the children Easter morning, as they prepare for the great Easter egg hunt. How many children do you know will wake up on Eastern morning and crawl into their parents' bed, knowing that there are Easter eggs to be found downstairs? That is what these two kids did. They woke up and came and snuggled in bed with us.

Here is a photo of E and Z finding their basket filled with two Spiderman plates, candy, and eggs.

The hunt is on. E and Z ran around the house looking for Easter eggs. Z started to dive for them.

E found one up on a picture frame.

Afterwards, in the afternoon, the kids got to eat their chocolate bunnies!

My Egg Dying Kids

On Saturday night we dyed eggs (nothing like waiting until the last minute). The kids really loved it. We only lost one egg in the process! E and Z are really looking forward to the arrival of the Easter bunny at our house.

My Palm Sunday

This past Sunday was family day at our church to celebrate Palm Sunday. We all had a great time. We had a great lunch and then joined the activities. Z had an Easter Egg hunt, followed by E's Easter Egg hunt. Afterwards, there were crafts, bounce houses and a GIANT ice cream Sunday, with all the trimmings. This year, Z was really into the Easter Egg hunt, as you can see from below. By the time Easter rolls around, he'll be an old pro.

I love this particular photo because, at the end of the hunt you have to take the candy out of the eggs, and return the eggs. E tore though her eggs, tossed them aside (as you can see from the egg in mid-air) to get at the candy.

My Family's Trip to the County Fair

On Saturday evening we went to the county fair. The kids had so much fun! First we went on a rollar coaster. The kids first time on a rollar coaster was a Disney World. Now E is an old pro. She screamed the entire time. The girls infront of us turned around to look at her screaming! She loved every minute of it!

Since Z wasn't big enough to go on that rollar coaster he got to drive the fire truck. He loves trucks and he really loved driving this truck! Just look at his smile!

Then we found a couple of lambs at the kids petting zoo.

And a cow!

All of you know how germ phobic I am. Luckily, T volunteered to take the kids into the petting zoo for me. I just took pictures. The kids loved it, especially the two rams that were ramming each other!

Of course you can't go to a county fair without having a funnel cake!

Then we enjoyed the ferris wheel. The sun was setting. It was a beautiful ride.

My Kids' Carnival

The kids' daycare had a carnival on Saturday. We went over to check it out. It was nice and low key. They had a dunk tank where you could dunk the teachers and they had lots of games for the kids to win tokens to trade in for prizes. The kids had a great time playing and running around as you can see.

My Daughter's Booster Seat....Finally

Last week we were at my mother's house for lunch. She has a digital scale; we do not. E got on the scale and she finally weighted 40 pounds (40.5 pounds to be exact). She has been dying to graduate from a car seat to a booster seat, which you can't do until you are 40 pounds. So finally we can convert her car seat to a booster seat. She was so excited that she danced around the house and we called T to tell him! These photos are of her in her booster seat.

My Husband's Roomba

Today T's Roomba Arrived. What is a roomba you ask? Why it is a robot vacuum! It does the vacuuming so you don't have to. The kids just *love* the idea of having a robot. In fact they love to talk in a robot voice, so when the roomba arrived they were head over heels. It arrived last night. T has been tracking it's shipment online. When it arrived, we unboxed it and plugged it in. It began to talk to us! We had to charge it overnight before we could use it.

The video below is of it cleaning the family room floor! The kids like to have it chase them around.
