I don't have the patience to tell you the entire story so here is the bulleted version:
- We flew from Providence to Cleveland
- It was very icy in Cleveland and they closed the airport
- We called our sister in law who got on the internet and got us a hotel room (thank Goodness!). Many people weren't able to get hotel rooms and slept on cots at the airport
- We waited in the taxi line for 1 hour, only to find that the taxi wouldn't take us without car seats, which had been checked and loaded onto the airplane
- Luckily, the airlines had started to unload the luggage from the planes and we were able to find the two carseats, but were too tired to look for our bags
- We made it to the Residence Inn
- The Residence Inn carries an inventory of Stouffers spaghetti and meatballs, beer and wine. We enjoyed all of the above
- We had only 6 diapers left
- There was a kmart across the street from the hotel. T walked over the next morning when it had stopped snowing and bought some diapers and toothbrushes etc
- I was able to convince Continental to fly us directly to Florida instead of back to Houston on Wednesday
- I did not have my cell phone charger, but T did
- We arrived in Florida about 20 minutes later than originally scheduled
- Our bags arrived very early (about 3am) the next morning
- All was amazingly good, considering what it could have been
Lesson learned: we will only take direct flights to Boston for now on, as a late night flight to Boston beats a night in Cleveland any day!
